She played a pivotal role in escalating India from a poor business destination to one of the most profitable countries to do business by meticulously planning, monitoring and implementing business strategies.

We’ve all used IBM machines and software at a point or another. This company has played a pivotal role in the development of Indian business model and Mrs Vanitha Narayanan has always been there to help – first as managing director and later as the chairman. She was also selected by the President as chairperson for the board of governors of the prestigious National Institute of Technology.

She is often described as the shining star when it comes to women in tech primarily for her previous position as the president of Intel India. Educated in Berkeley, she is a working mother serving currently as the vice president in one of the Intel subdivision which manufactures storage hardware. She has multiple foreign degrees and one degree in economics from Calcutta University.

Women in tech #4 – Aruna Jayanthi

This next woman in tech has been described by Business India as the most powerful women in India. Aruna Jayanthi is currently the CEO of an outsourcing company called Capgemini – a company that scored over a 12 billion Euro turnout in 2016. Prior to this, she served as the Global Delivery Head for the same company. She is one of the board members of the National Institute of Technology, Calicut.

You probably already know that it is a difficult task to get hired in a company so big as Microsoft. But Neelam Dhawan did just that She is currently the managing director of Hewlett-Packard who previously served in the same post but for Microsoft. She has also dabbled with HCL and IBM for short periods of time She lends her priced perspectives to NASSCOM in an attempt to improve the Software business trend in India.

Women in tech #6 – Kirthiga Reddy

This Indian businesswoman is currently the managing director of Facebook. She is also the first Indian to get a job at Facebook. She has, however, decided to move away from India to get a job where she can plan and manage the business progress of Facebook on a more global scale. She has two daughters and has made it to Top 50 Most Powerful Women listing by Fortune India.

Women in tech #7 –  Aarathi Subramanian

Our list ends with a fitness pundit who also happens to lead a critical role as executive director at Tata Consultancy Service. Her role emphasises on companies’ focus on risk management. She holds a B.Tech in Computer Science degree from the reputed National Institute of Technology, Warangal and a master’s degree from the University of Kansas. She has also played a significant role in setting up a Center of Excellence in the busy city of Chennai.
