Instead of banning Flipkart and depriving students of an opportunity to work with one of the top startups in the country, they decided to change their strategy, which makes more sense to companies and students.
So whose call is it? Honestly, only students should be allowed to analyze whether taking up a startup offer is risky. Graduates from IIT/NIT/IIM are mature adults and know the risks of exponential growth while working in a startup.
There is a fundamental flaw in our campus placement process. I discussed this in one of my earlier posts here. This is why more and more employers are taking the offline route to hire freshers from Tier-1 institutes.
So, if IITians want to work at these companies and if companies want to hire IITians, LET THEM!
To give companies banned and many others who do not get to visit campus for placements a chance to hire the best talent, we at Instahyre came up with Un-Campus placements. We followed IIM Bangalore’s placement process and organized this event in April to reduce the risk of deferred hiring and revoked offers. This also gives more liberty to both employers and students to choose each other instead of being forced to choose from a limited pool.
What exactly is Un-Campus?
Un-Campus is an online placement event for Tier-1 college students from IIT/IIM/NIT/BITS/DTU to consider all their job options before they settle into their first job. This event allows employers to hire the best talent in the country while enabling students to find their dream job.
If you are an employer/recruiter/startup founder looking to hire exceptional talent, register here and join companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Zomato, Uber, Zynga, Target, and more who have already signed up for the event.
If you are a final year IIT/IIM/NIT/BITS/DTU student, make your un-campus profile here.
The event kicks off on the 3rd of April and is FREE for both the candidates and employers. We already have over 1,500 registrations from top colleges for profiles such as Software Engineering, Design, Data Science, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
