- HR: There is very slight difference in salaries (averaged for experience: 0-1 years, 2-5 years, 6-9 years, 10-15 years) between HR Generalist & Talent Acquisition [~11 LPA]
- Marketing: On average, Online Marketing nets the highest salary [~14 LPA], while Content Writing & PR / Communications get slightly lower average salaries [~12 LPA]
- Sales: Customer Service & General Management talent is paid a little more than Sales / Business Development [~17 LPA for the first 2 job functions; ~13 LPA for Sales / BD]
- Operations: Accounting / Finance talent gets ~3 LPA more than Operations Management
Which job functions are most popular among non-tech talent?
- HR: Talent Acquisition is very slightly more popular than HR Generalist [52% & 48%]
- Marketing: Content Writing & Online Marketing functions are most popular [26% each]
- Sales: Sales / Business Development is the most popular function by a big margin [65%]
- Operations: Accounting / Finance & Operations Management split evenly [46% & 54%]
What is the quantitative gender gap between female & male non-tech talent?
- In stark contrast to tech [which was concentrated in the 5 metro cities], most of non-tech talent [except Talent Acquisition and General Management] is located in non-metros
- Even for these two non-tech functions, Bangalore leads Rest of India by just 2% and 1%
- Within the 5 metro cities, the leading location is an even split b/w Delhi+NCR / Bangalore
- Remote & hybrid work has led to an increase in talent in non-metro cities too. Cities like Pune, Indore, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh have become excellent sources of talent after the widespread pandemic-triggered adoption of Work From Home setups.
